The Picky Chick

First of all, if you are here, thank you for taking your time to read my thoughts.

I spent the first 20+ years of my life as an extremely picky eater.  I didn't even try food.  I refused to put anything in my mouth if I didn't think I would like it.  The details of all of that will be shared elsewhere on this blog, but this is a general history.  A few years ago, I started slowly trying new foods as I worked to lose weight.  In the past couple of years, I have begun to branch out a lot more.  It's exciting and scary, and I hope you'll come along on my journey as I keep trying new things.

It isn't easy for me to share some of these things with those who have lived through this with me.  Much of it is very emotional and embarrassing, but I feel like it's been an important part of who I am.  If you know me in real life and are one of those who has at some point been frustrated with me or tried to encourage me to taste new things or attempted to appease me by making me a PB&J or gone out of your way to pick me up some food I liked or not been able to go where you wanted to eat because of me, please know that I appreciate you.  I am aware that my eating habits have often been a huge pain for many of my friends and family members.   Thank you for loving me anyway.
